The Department of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Sargodha recently organized a Students’ Project Exhibition, showcasing innovative and informative projects by students on social issues, digital awareness, health, and environmental topics. The exhibition aimed to highlight the research and creative abilities of students while promoting new ideas for the effective resolution of societal challenges.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Qaisar Abbas, with the Department Chairman, Dr. Mudassar Hussain Shah, present alongside him. Faculty members, students, and representatives from various departments attended the event, expressing keen interest in the students’ projects.
During the exhibition, students presented projects addressing key contemporary social and digital topics, including:
“Verify Before You Amplify” – tackling misinformation and fake news on social media
“E-Waste Management” – promoting effective electronic waste management
“Teenage Mental Health Awareness” – raising awareness about mental health among youth
“Healthy Life” – providing models and suggestions for adopting a healthy lifestyle
Speaking at the event, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Qaisar Abbas lauded the students’ creativity, research skills, and practical efforts, emphasizing that such initiatives not only align students with modern challenges but also foster leadership, critical thinking, and social responsibility. He pledged that the University would continue to organize similar educational and creative activities in the future to further nurture students’ abilities and translate their positive ideas into action.
Dr. Mudassar Hussain Shah, Chairman of the Department, stated that the primary objective of the Project Exhibition was to provide students with a platform to demonstrate their practical skills and encourage them to play a proactive role in addressing social issues. He added that media studies students possess the capacity to bring about positive change in society through modern media tools and research-based initiatives.
The event concluded with the Vice Chancellor and faculty members reviewing the projects, engaging with the students, and appreciating their efforts while encouraging continued dedication to research, innovation, and creative endeavors.
