University of Sargodha Opens Series of Industrial Expos and Exhibitions

The University of Sargodha inaugurated a series of industrial expos and exhibitions under the Annual Research Arena 2025, aimed at strengthening academia industry linkages, promoting innovation, and showcasing creative excellence. 

A key attraction of the event was the Citrus Expo, organized by Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture, which highlighted advancements in citrus research, value-added products, and modern agricultural practices. The exhibition focused on citrus varieties thriving in the Sargodha region, including oranges, mandarins, limes, and lemons. It also showcased diverse rootstock varieties for improved disease resistance, higher yields, and enhanced fruit quality, along with a rich germplasm collection of over 95 cultivars and the production of certified, disease-free nursery plants for local growers.

The Innosphere Expo, organized by the ORIC, presented innovative startups and technology-driven solutions developed by emerging entrepreneurs. Exhibits included safety-focused technologies such as women safety keychains and automatic safety doors, psychological services through art, self-regulation and motivation tools, predictive load management systems, and a portable heavy-metal ions detector for drinking water.

Expo also included creative décor items, jewelry, cosmetics, taxidermy displays, sustainable green concepts, urban kitchen cultivation, geological exploration under “Rock Realm,” food innovation, dietary supplements, textiles, agricultural machinery models, and electric vehicles. 

In addition, the Institute of Art & Design hosted the 3rd International Art Exhibition 2025, titled “Turkish Pakistan Fusion,” at the Zubeida Agha Art Gallery. The exhibition featured stunning watercolor works of 65 Turkish artist under cooperation of IWS Turkey depicting traditional motifs and modern interpretations.

Meanwhile, a Food Industrial Expo, organized by the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, showcased innovative food products, providing a platform for students and researchers to demonstrate food innovation, quality enhancement, and value addition in the food sector.

The Department of Social Work, in collaboration with Sanatzar, also organised an exhibition titled “Fempreneur Artisans: The Power of Her Hands,” highlighting women-led craftsmanship and entrepreneurial creativity.

Alongside the exhibitions, the Department of Psychology organised a Counseling Camp titled “Happy Mind Station,” offering psychological counseling services to promote mental wellbeing among students and visitors. An annual blood donation and blood group testing camp was jointly organised by the Directorate of Student Affairs, Blood Donation Society and the Department of Social Work, with active participation from students, faculty and staff.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas inaugurated all activities along with other guests and officials.
