UoS, International University of Chabahar Sign Intent of Cooperation for Academic and Research Collaboration

The University of Sargodha (UoS), Pakistan, and the International University of Chabahar (IUC), Iran, have signed an Intent of Cooperation (IOC) to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.

The IOC was signed by Vice Chancellor University of Sargodha Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas and Vice Chancellor International University of Chabahar Dr. Abdolghafour Badpa. The agreement establishes a structured framework for cooperation aimed at promoting joint research, faculty and student mobility, and academic exchange.

Under the IOC, both universities agreed to collaborate in key academic areas including Management and Business Administration, Engineering and Technology, Information Technology, Law and Social Sciences, Education, and Agriculture. Special emphasis has been placed on joint supervision of Masterโ€™s and PhD research, with a fast-track mechanism for matching students with co-supervisors from both institutions an d facilitating virtual participation in thesis defenses.

The agreement also encourages joint research publications, conferences, seminars, and workshops, as well as student and faculty exchange programs. Provisions have been included for visiting scholars, short-term academic visits, executive education programs, and summer and winter schools.

Both institutions will appoint program coordinators to ensure effective implementation and ongoing coordination. 

While addressing the ceremony, Vice Chancellor University of Sargodha Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas stated that the signing of the Intent of Cooperation reflects a strong institutional commitment to promoting international academic collaboration, joint research, and knowledge exchange between Pakistan and Iran.

The Vice Chancellor emphasized that such partnerships will open new avenues for faculty and student development, foster research-driven innovation, and strengthen academic linkages at the regional and global levels.
