UoS, Pakistan Sports Board Hosted refresher course for coaches

The University of Sargodha, in collaboration with the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), hosted a Refresher Course 2026 aimed at enhancing the professional capacity of coaches and sports instructors.
The inaugural ceremony was held at the Malik Feroz Khan Noon Business School Hall and was attended by coaches, sports officials, students and national-level athletes.
Pakistan Sports Board Deputy Director General Mumtazul Haq, the chief guest, said the promotion of sports required modern facilities and quality training opportunities at the grassroots level. He said the refresher course had been designed to equip coaching staff with contemporary professional skills, enabling them to train athletes more effectively and help talented players compete at national and international levels.
University Director Sports Mehr Ahmed Khan Haral said the institution was taking practical measures to promote sports and develop coaching-related skills. He thanked the Pakistan Sports Board for organising the programme at the university.
During the course, participants received training in modern coaching methodologies, athlete development, and the scientific aspects of sports coaching. Trainers also conducted practical sessions on contemporary coaching techniques and explained key rules and regulations governing the profession.
Organisers said the programme would help improve coaching standards and strengthen sports development initiatives in the region.
