The University of Sargodha organized the closing ceremony of its 2nd Annual Research Arena 2025, during which special awards were presented to academic and administrative officials as well as employees in recognition of their outstanding contributions toward the successful conduct of the Research Arena.

The ceremony was graced by Vice Chancellor of Chabahar International University, Iran, Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Badpa, as the Chief Guest, while Vice Chancellor UoS Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan attended the event as Guests of Honor.

 The event was also attended by Director ORIC Prof. Dr. Ahmad Raza Bilal, heads and representatives of various academic and administrative departments, along with students who rendered voluntary services during Research Arena activities.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Badpa expressed his pleasure in learning that the University of Sargodha holds a prominent position not only at the national level but also internationally in the fields of education and research. He stated that Pakistan and Iran share deep-rooted brotherly relations, common cultural values, and strong social bonds, which reflect the historical closeness between the people of both countries.

He emphasized that there is now a strong need to further strengthen these relations at the academic and research levels through joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchange programs, and institutional collaborations. 

Dr. Badpa further appreciated the University of Sargodha for successfully organizing more than seventy academic, research, and community-oriented activities within five days, terming it a remarkable achievement for any higher education institution.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas stated that Research Arena organized by the University of Sargodha was the second prestigious academic and research event of its kind, where faculty and staff from all departments demonstrated exemplary commitment and teamwork.

The Vice Chancellor expressed his strong confidence that if faculty and staff continue to work with the same passion and commitment, the University of Sargodha would soon achieve a distinguished position at both national and international levels. He added that the university aims to be ranked among the top five universities in Pakistan and among the top 500 universities globally.

Earlier, Director ORIC Prof. Dr. Ahmad Raza Bilal, stated that the second edition of Research Arena was unique in the sense that more than seventy activities were successfully organized through sponsorship support.

He emphasized that research serves as the backbone of progress for any nation and academic institution too, and therefore all activities of Research Arena were designed in alignment with the SDGs. Appreciating the efforts of the Research Arena team, he reaffirmed his commitment to organizing more impactful research-oriented activities in the future.
